Making Brainport Chill

Description

Approximately 25% of the population does not fully participate in society. They experience, to a severe or lesser extent, invisible barriers such as overwhelming noises, overstimulating lights, crowdedness, social anxiety, or low energy levels. This can be due to brain damage, autism, hearing impairments, overstimulation of the brain, burnout, metabolic diseases, and a host of other reasons. Chill Foundation aims to achieve a situation where there are: (a) sufficient LoungeSeats in shopping centers where people can rest for a while, (b) ChillCafés that have a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for all, and (c) EasyDining restaurants that offer "quiet" corners or separate rooms to enjoy dinner with friends or family. To achieve this, we are looking for teams of 1-3 Chill Coaches to find and maintain such Chill opportunities in the Brainport region. One LoungeSeat per shopping center would be great, a ChillCafé monthly in a regular commercial (grand) café on Friday evening from approximately 19:00 to 21:00 would be brilliant, and 1-3 restaurants in each town, city center, and suburb would be an amazing addition to the social life of thousands. Geographically, we are looking for people living in the municipalities of the Brainport region: Best, Eindhoven, Geldrop-Mierlo, Helmond, Nuenen, Oirschot, Son en Breugel, Veldhoven, and Waalre. We look forward to starting the first teams in March and growing to achieve full coverage in a few months. Volunteers will first receive information and instructions in an online meeting and can freely choose the volunteering hours that work best for them and the task. Ideally, each team will include an "Atmosphere Manager", a person who has experienced a life-changing event and is looking for or needs a valuable role in society again. Details and questions will be discussed during the introductory meeting, which we will schedule once we have enough volunteers.
